Then boot from this flash drive, choose “Repair” and use “Startup Repair” to fix problems with missing or corrupted system files.
If Startup Repair cannot solve the issue, you can try using System Restore to return your PC back into a state where it was working.
Method 3: Update/Repair Windows Boot Configuration Data –
This method ensures that all of your hardware devices are recognized by Windows and correctly configured to start as needed. Run “bcdedit /enum”, which will provide you with a list of boot applications along with their identifiers, such as {current}.
Make note of any device listed in the command’s output such as {41bf2d60-45f7-11df-91b6-08002be18} or {dd502078-2987-11d9-9adc-525400a26e8f}, then run “bcdedit /set {current} device boot” from an elevated command prompt to specify a device entry.
Then run “bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes”, which will ensure that you can choose whether to boot into Windows or your Recovery Environment in the future.
Method 4: Repair Corrupted or Missing Registry Files –
- You can manually rebuild your registry by creating a backup and removing everything related to Windows, such as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_USERS, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, and HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG.

If none of the above methods work for you, you can always try booting into an alternative operating system such as Ubuntu (or another open-source variant) with your PC’s current configuration.

You can also download GParted or testDisk within Ubuntu to check for hard drive corruption.
